Don said only one like it found. See also photos of many of Don's chalcedony specimens from this area.

A visual identification. Stilbite sheaths on albite with smoky quartz crystals. Stilbite is not listed from Moat Mtn. on mindat.org, but a web search finds a few Moat Mtn. specimens. Zeolite minerals do seem to show up in unusual New Hampshire localities.

This is an unusual association for Parker Mtn. lollingite. The heterosite surface is oxidized to a brown color.

CHLOROTOID Rt.12 west side rip-rap, Charlestown, NH 14 cm specimen	Species: CHLOROTOID Locality: Rt.12 west side rip-rap, Charlestown, NH Specimen Size: 14 cm specimen Field Collected: Tom Mortimer 9/2026 Catalog No.: 2794 Notes: Chloritoid "pimples" (porphyroblasts) in shist matrix. These are similar to the Orford chlorotoid occurrence. Large slabs of this schist are present at the road pull-off spot. I would not have recognized these if not for my experience with the Orford, NH find. Only a species collector would bother with these ! However, chlorotoid is a valid mineral species.

The smoky quartz crystals poking up, plus adjacent rhombic siderite crystals (not shown), strongly suggest that we have natural galena crystals here.
